Paul’s London Marathon Run

Story

Paul Brogden has very kindly offered to run the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April 2019 in memory of George and to raise funds on behalf of Meningitis Now to help them in their fight against meningitis meaning they can continue to fund vaccine research, campaign for vaccine introductions for all children, support all those left affected by the devastation meningitis causes and continue raising awareness of the signs and symptoms. As I’m sure we can all agree running a marathon is no easy feat and takes months of dedication, preparation and perseverance so for Paul to take on this challenge and chose to do so for George is such a lovely gesture. Paul would like to raise as much as he can for Meningitis Now and so any sponsorship big or small is very greatly appreciated by Paul, the charity and us as George’s family, thank you and a huge good luck Paul 💪🏼💪🏼

Memory Ribbon update

27th April 2019
Marathon flip-flops arrived today. Not for running in before you start thinking I've *really* lost the plot. They'll be in my bag at the finish line ready for some very sore feet. Things went a bit mad last night with the memory ribbons. I can't believe how many went and how quickly. Here's the list so far. Please let me know if I've missed anyone. Also, if I'm running for someone other than you then let me know their names. I'll be checking my list at every mile marker so I will know who I'm running for. 1 Ollie Brogden 2 Ollie Brogden 3 Ollie Brogden 4 Neneh Brogden 5 Angela & Kevin 6 Naima Brogden 7 Anne Brogden (Mum) 8 Anne Holden Thompson 9 Maria Shattock 10 Angela & Kevin 11 12 Sarah Humphries 13 14 Angela & Kevin 15 Jayne Dowding 16 Dionne (Dawn Callaghan) 17 Margaret Carr (Grandma) 18 Stephen Lawrence 19 Terry Clarkson 20 Dilys Williams 21 Sylvia Lancaster 22 Angela & Kevin 23 Tom Carr (Grandad) 24 Andrew Brydon 25 Tony Brogden (Dad) 26 Chris Adams The last 385 Deborah Carr Thank you all so much!

Memory Ribbons

27th April 2019
This time next week I'll be a marathon runner. I'm under no illusion that it's going to hurt and break me, but I'm going to do it. This week I'm going to be hammering these awesome memory ribbons made by Naomi. For a minimum £5 donation I'll run a mile for, or in memory of someone you love. In return you get a ribbon that has completed the London Marathon. I'm running miles 4 & 6 for my girls so they will have a memento of the day. Mile 18 is for Stephen Lawrence because VMLM have dedicated mile 18 to him, and racism is stupid. The last 385 yards are for my cousin, Deborah Carr x Please donate and let me know who I'm running for and which mile you would like. I will check my list at every mile marker on the day.
