Blackpool Half Marathon

Story

I'm running the Blackpool Half Marathon in memory of George Stanley Moore on the 27th September 2020. As well as smiling and laughing all the time, George loved going to the Blackpool illuminations with his family before he was tragically taken by meningitis at just 10 months old. I'm raising funds on behalf of Meningitis Now to help them in their fight against meningitis meaning they can continue to fund vaccine research, campaign for vaccine introductions for all children, support all those left affected by the devastation meningitis causes and continue raising awareness of the signs and symptoms. I'd like to raise as much money as possible so any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

Virtual Half Marathon

25th September 2020
Hi Everyone, The Blackpool Half Marathon has been cancelled so i've decided to carry on with this event virtually. I'll be running around Much Hoole / Longton / New Longton / Farrington Moss on the 26th September 2020, starting at 10am. Emma Moore (George's beautiful mummy) is going to cycle by my side and carry any water I might need. She'll also have a bucket for any donations we might get along the way. It's a long way but I'll just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep thinking of little George. Thanks so much to you all for the donations so far, it's for such a good cause and means a lot to me and my family. Abigail x

With just over 4 weeks to go until the Blackpool Half Marathon, training is well underway! I’m up to the 10 mile mark now and even though the training is getting harder, I just keep thinking of George and keep plodding on. Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far, it means so much. It’s all for you little George Stanley Moore 💙🧡💙🧡

Training

17th February 2020
With all the storms the last few weeks I’ve not been able to follow my training plan properly but I ran my longest run so far yesterday, 7 miles. Thank you very much to those of you who have donated so far - it means so much. Even though I never got to meet little George he holds a very special place in my heart ❤️
