Story

Starting this year we are going to hold an annual bowls doubles tournament in memory of George with the winning doubles team each year winning a memorial shield plus individiual trophy to keep and cash prize. George often came down to the bowls green in Much Hoole with his Mummy and Nanna to watch his Grandad play and to get some attention off all the players. He loved to sit on the grass in the evening sun watching, playing and giggling so we feel this annual event in his memory is a fitting tribute. The tournament will take place on Saturday 26th July this year from 12pm and will be £10 per player to enter with all money raised going to George's Fund. The doubles team must consist of one bowler and one non-bowler who will compete against other double pairs until one is announced the winner and presented with the memorial shield and cash prize. We have already got a lot of people showing interest in taking part in this tournament and if your a non-bowler looking for a partner then please let us know as we can find partners for those struggling. If you would like to sign up please get in touch ASAP or enter your name on the list in the Much Hoole Snooker Club as a list of pairs is currently being written up and there is only 16 pairs we can fit in on the day. Thank you xx
